This table has item text in the IRW: the wording administered to respondents, not just the response codes.
| Instrument | Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R), six scored items, Dutch administration. van Eersel, Hulshof, Wickham, Smid & Boelen (2024), 'Pre-job loss grief reactions and work attachment among sick-listed employees: Introduction of the imminent Job Loss Scale', BMC Psychology 12:118. Deposit doi:10.34894/FDDFTJ (DataverseNL, CC0): item wording and per-item response labels are the SPSS variable and value labels of 'IJLS [dataset].sav', corroborated by IJLS_readme.txt, which lists the same wording and coding and states '[all items were translated from Dutch to English]'. Items 2, 3 and 5 are reverse-keyed and the source stores them ALREADY REVERSED -- their value labels run 1 = Strongly agree to 5 = Strongly disagree -- so the anchors shipped for those three are inverted relative to the other three, exactly as the source has them. |

This codebook is reconstructed by the IRW from the IRW data standard and the script that built it, IJLS_Eersel_2024.R. It is our best reading, not the source’s own codebook, and it may contain mistakes. Where the two disagree, the source data are the authority. If you find an error, please tell us.
| Column | What it is | Source column |
|---|---|---|
| IRW standard columns | ||
id | IRW standard Identifier for the focal unit being measured — typically a person, but sometimes another entity (e.g., a word in a lexical task). | ID |
item | IRW standard Item identifier. | made in the build script |
resp | IRW standard Response value. | made in the build script |
What item codes and covariate values stand for is in the codebook released with the source data.
Or load it directly in R or Python (both need a free Redivis account; the first call opens a browser to sign in):
