About this table

Description1,092 respondents each rated 10 fictitious online-dating profiles (screen name, photo, bio, age, height, religion, education, political ideology randomized) on six 4-5 point questions; Huber & Malhotra (2017) Study 1 data as re-deposited with Easton & Holbein (2020).

Randomization restrictionsobserved in the data (not documented by the source): age and height levels depend on the sex of the profile (age 25/28/31 for male profiles, 22/25/28 for female; two heights each); screen name, picture and bio are sex-specific; evaluators saw opposite-sex profiles. Ideology, religion and education levels are near-uniform; ages and heights unequal.

Profile positionrecorded in the deposit

Because the attribute levels were not randomized independently, an estimator has to account for the restriction; a plain difference in means across levels can mislead.
