20,840 rated or chosen profiles from 2,084 respondents, in up to 5 tasks of 2 profiles varying on 8 attributes.
| Description | Paired conjoint in which 2,084 Brazilian adults (Qualtrics, Oct-Dec 2020) chose in which of two cases a lynching was more justified, over 5 pairs; eight attributes describe the suspected criminal (gender, age, race, residence), the offense, the victim (gender, age) and who carried out the lynching. Outcome: forced choice; levels in Portuguese. |

| Randomization restrictions | yes (stated by the source): No female rapists (Feminino never with Estuprou); when the offense is Roubou o carro the victim is never Criança or Adolescente (appendix C.1). Consequently Estuprou (12.9%) and Roubou o carro (12.5%) appear half as often as the other offenses, perpetrator gender is 43/57, and child/teen victims ~21.5% vs ~28.5%. |

Because the attribute levels were not randomized independently, an estimator has to account for the restriction; a plain difference in means across levels can mislead.
Outcomes:
| choice | Em qual dos dois casos você acha que o linchamento é mais justificado? [choice, forced] |
